ASTM C878-95

Revision of a popular ASTM manual (STP 825) provides information essential to the training of on-scene emergency responders. Arranged by Department of Transportation Hazard Class and shipment volume, and includes terms used to describe classes or materials, and incident control tactics.

Flow charts take the on-scene emergency responder through a series of yes/no questions to reach recommended actions for handling hazardous materials incidents. A special supplemental chart, Initial Emergency Assessment--Initial Response Action, is included.

New to this edition: a category on Water Sensitive Liquids -- Metals&Metal Alkyls, and new tables correlating UN, DOT, and CAS numbers. Completely revised since the 1983 edition.
