Describes two test procedures, one based on extraction of dust and small particles from the dry material by agitation in an air stream, the other on assessment of the insoluble matter extracted by a washing solution. Appendices describe sampling procedure and preparation of test specimens, and the dust index apparatus used for the dry method.
