1. Scope

This Standard covers mechanical groove type pipe couplings to suit all pressure pipe up to and including 30-inch nominal diameter and mechanical shoulder type pipe couplings to suit all pressure pipe up to and including 60-inch nominal diameter for related pressure pipe and fittings for liquids and gases.

This Standard includes minimum requirements for material, chemical properties, physical properties, dimensions, finishes, and markings.
