By the end of this workbook you will have taken the first step towards developing a responsible environmental management system (EMS). You will have developed a sound environmental policy.

A good policy, however, is only the first step towards a well- implemented EMS. So the workbook will also introduce you to some of the basic concepts of environmental management.
