The Eighth Edition of the handbook represents a discussion of the grounding rules, general rules, and Parts 1, 2, 3, and 4 of the third (1920) through the 2017 editions of the National Electrical Safety Code (NESC), specially crafted for the professionals who need to understand the Code. Contributor commentary gives users insight into what lies behind the NESC rules and how users might apply them. Discussed in the history and commentary are the development of the rules in the Code and the response to change proposals during the past 90 years. This commentary allows users to understand how questions they may encounter were dealt with in the past.
