PIP STE02465 complements PIP STS02465 and provides assistance to the engineer in the preparation of contract documents for furnishing and installing ACIP piles.

This Practice is modeled on DFI TM-ACIP-1 (Augered Cast-in-Place Piles Manual). For additional information, refer to that manual and also to DFI TM-ACIP-2 (Augered Cast-in-Place Piles Inspector's Guide).

This Practice does not provide guidelines for lateral displacement or drilled displacement piles, also known as augered cast-in-place displacement (ACIP-D) piles. DFI manuals, the Federal Highway Administration documents and a geotechnical engineer with experience designing ACIP-D piles should be consulted for guidance on ACIP-D piles.
